See Historic Trumpets from All Over the World During Trumpets Weird and Wonderful
Something weird and wonderful is on the way! Carolina Music Museum is proud to present its newest exhibit, “Trumpets Weird and Wonderful,” on September 13th. Check it out this Friday.
“Trumpets Weird and Wonderful” will feature select pieces from one of the world’s finest collections of over 600 historic brass instruments from the Joe and Joella Utley Collection of Spartanburg, SC. In collaboration with the National Music Museum in Vermillion, South Dakota, which will soon house the Utley Collection, Dr. Sabine Klaus, curator of the Utley Collection, will be working closely with Tom Strange, Curator and Artistic Director of the Carolina Music Museum to prepare the exhibit for opening.
Carolina Music Museum brings a new concept for music to Heritage Green as the new Greenville-based home for the world-famous Carolina Clavier Collection. With the opening of the new Carolina Music Museum, the opportunities for art, science, and music to intermix and influence audiences of all ages has arrived in the heart of downtown Greenville.
The mission of the Museum is to celebrate, entertain, and inform audiences of all ages about the rich musical history and traditions of the Carolinas, through historically and culturally significant instruments. The Museum’s vision is to be the leading center for preserving and celebrating the musical narratives of the Carolinas and the Southeast, through educational programs, exhibits, and performances by distinguished artists.

Museum members and children under 6 may attend The Utley Collection of Brass Instruments for free.
