With Nearly 200 Antique Objects, This Exhibit Is One You Cannot Afford to Miss
M&G's exhibit of the Bowen Collection of Antiquities--around 250 objects representing 37 centuries of ancient Egyptian, Hebrew, and Roman cultures--is available to view at Mack Library on the campus of Bob Jones University. Objects include a first-century manger, a Hebrew baby rattle, Egyptian make-up and jewelry, Roman glass and currency, weapons of warfare, and cuneiform samples.
Nearly 200 Egyptian objects in the collection were discovered and donated by Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie, the world-renown English archaeologist. The intellectual Babylonian, Sumerian, and Mesopotamian civilizations are represented by cuneiform writing examples through items including clay tablets and a paver from the Ishtar gate inscribed with King Nebuchadnezzar’s name.
Children K5-8th grade can grab a scavenger hunt at the Circulation Desk to follow clues and discover secrets from the past, so don’t miss a chance to discover ancient artifacts—with or without your children— at The Bowen Collection of Antiquities, located at the Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University!
